Author Pages
Are you an author who has content on AbandonedTowers.com? Well if you are, then you have an Author Page. We think they are cool, and useful tools to help promote the authors we publish, we hope you agree.
If you are such an author, you should check out your page, and then you should send us updates for it! Here’s the type of information we’re looking for:
Author Name
This is the name that your work is credited as being by. So it can be a pseudonym or a pen name, but it should be exactly how you want it displayed. If you want your middle initial listed, ensure you include it. Do you want a period after the initial? In the case of K.E. Abel, should there be a space between the initials? Should it include periods? Well the point is, you tell us EXACTLY how you want your name to appear, so that we make sure we get it right!
Your Real Name
This is necessary for our records, and does not need to be displayed if you don’t want it displayed.
Hide Real Name
Let us know if you want us to hide your real name. If you don’t want it hidden AND you use a pseudonym your author page will display as: David Cowley writing as D. Cowley
Official Website
Let us know if you have an official website, and we’ll add a link in your bio. This appears both on your Author Page and the small author Bio at the bottom of any of your works on AbandonedTowers.com
Author Blog
Let us know if you have a blog, and we’ll add a link in your bio. This appears both on your Author Page and the small author Bio at the bottom of any of your works on AbandonedTowers.com
Author Twitter
Let us know if you have a twitter account, and we’ll add a link in your bio. This appears both on your Author Page and the small author Bio at the bottom of any of your works on AbandonedTowers.com
Author Facebook
Let us know if you have a Facebook page or account, and we’ll add a link in your bio. This appears both on your Author Page and the small author Bio at the bottom of any of your works on AbandonedTowers.com
Author Photo
Send us a picture or headshot and we’ll include it in your Bio. Ideally it should be a .jpg or .png and should not be larger than 250 pixels x 250 pixels (square pictures preferred). Our default image is 150px x 150px. This appears both on your Author Page and the small author Bio at the bottom of any of your works on AbandonedTowers.com
Short Bio
Give us a short 50 word or less Bio. This appears both on your Author Page and the small author Bio at the bottom of any of your works on AbandonedTowers.com. On your author page it appears at the top of the page as a “blockquote”.
Full Bio
Give us a full long Bio, no length restrictions (although we reserve the right to edit for content/appropriateness). This only appears on your actual Author Page. You can include references to additional social networks, works in print, etc… if you so desire.
Other Comments
We have another field that we can fill in, which goes at the top of the Author Page (above the short bio), that we can put stuff in. So if you’ve got something else you want included on your Author Page, but don’t want in one of the other sections, this is your last chance.
Beyond your Control
In addition to all of the above a full listing of your content on AbandonedTowers.com is listed on both your Author Page and in the small author Bio at the bottom of any of your works. This makes it very simple for a reader to find other content you’ve written on the site (no searching required).
