eBooks of the Future?
There are some interesting things going on with eBooks these days and I’d encourage you to get more informed, as in the long run this is going to affect all of us. The sooner things get on the “right path” the better it will be for all of us.
One of my favourite web resources: A List Apart has a special two-part issue on digital publication standards:
- Publication Standards Part 1: The Fragmented Present by Nick Disabato
- Publication Standards Part 2: A Standard Future by Nick Disabato
An additional part of those articles (from May 22, 2012) is the launch of The Publication Standards Project. We at Abandoned Towers haven’t signed on for anything at this point, but we’re very much interested in what’s developing.
Resonating well with those articles is the announcement this week (04 Jun 2012) at BookExpo America that Tor/Forge are launching a DRM-free e-book store in late summer 2012.
Interesting times to be a reader…
