Stars
I watch the stars go by
in the dance of ages
a billion billion years in the making
while under me the earth turns
cool grass under me
indigo dome over me
and I wonder
when people will notice
the wreckage of my car
wrapped around a tree
just below the shattered guardrail
with my broken form sprawled nearby.
